Not my favorite bill as I have discussed but today I find out that there might be a light in this tunnel. The DSHS has asked for Insurers to justify their plan increases. I have no doubt that the team of crackerjack toadies, whoops I mean Congresspeople, beholden to the Medical Industrial Complex for money will find someway circumvent this, they always do. But it is essential if we are to be beholden to them in the year ahead, our lives, literally depend upon it.
The other article that once again discusses the current issues surrounding the Medical Industrial Complex and that requirement is Paul Krugman's column today discussing how States are trying to manipulate that requirement in putting those who can't afford private carriers into the Medicare system. The one system that does more to reign in costs and try to manage care in a way that makes it reasonable and affordable, well except to Doctors who circumvent that by not taking any Medicare patients. That is one way but with more expected to enroll wouldn't the sheer numbers alone make it worth it? Its not as if the level or quality of care will improve. I doubt they would go beyond their current 15 minute time limit, frankly I would be happy with 10 if it was useful.
So we shall see where this brings us towards the countdown that begins next year. Mitt Romney the actual "inventor" of Obamacare believes it was this bill that ensured his re-election. Well okay then, he built it!
